Description

"Mingus at Monterey" 2 LP set Mingus Stereo #JWS001/ JWS002.  This is the original
of a jazz classic.  Specifications are: silver on black Charles Mingus label; non-gatefold (fixed interior separator) dual album; cover with brown-toned, wide angle (fish-eye) view of coast. Notice on back cover states "This album can be purchased only by mail through the address below,...  etc."

Other notes: "Meditation on Integration" is in two parts. Likewise, "Orange is the Color of Her Dress, Then Blue Silk" is in two parts; with close quote is missing on label title of part II (Side 2B). So this is a real, original MINGUS JWS 001/002.  It presents some awesome jazz sets.
Personnel, besides Mingus, include Collette, McPherson, Bryant, Handy III, Richmond, etc.

Condition of the LPS is overall VG+.  There are a few sleeve marks and slight needle transit marks.  However, I have played through these records (using an Oracle with Blue Point at 1.2 g) and heard only a few pops.  The records play with clear, live, very bright, room filling sound. Real Mingus sound! The inner sleeves are not both original but are retained as added protection during shipping.

The cover has been punched through with two ring binder grommets on the left margin. There is some slight tearing of the top and bottom paper edges and partial (3-4 inch) seam separation at bottom. Also there is a small (3/8") square sticker on the front (top right - see pic).  No other markings or writing.  The album pictures on front (sepia toned, wide angle of coast line) and on back (the B/W of Mingus) are clear and clean.
