In Very Good Condition
Very good condition of 4 rare, out of print, vinyl copies of
albums from the legendary iconoclastic rock band Mink DeVille
known for its association with early punk bands at New York’s
CBGB nightclub and for being a showcase for the music of the
late great, and totally underrated singer songwriter Willy DeVille.
First is the 1978 second album ‘Return To Magenta’, which was
produced by Jack Nitzsche. With 10 killer tracks that include
“Soul Twist”, “Steady Drivin’ Man”, “I Broke That Promise” and
“Confidence To Kill”.
The next LP is the 1980 ‘Le Chat Bleu’, which Rolling Stone Critic’s Poll
ranked the fifth best album of 1980. Classic songs from this LP include,
“This Must Be The Night“, “Lipstick Traces“, “Just To Walk That Little Girl Home“
and “Savoir Faire“.
The third selection is the 1981 ‘Coup de Grâce’ filled with ten songs and
every one a winner, “Just Give Me One Good Reason”, “Maybe Tomorrow”,
“You Better Move On”, “Love Me Like You Did Before” and “End Of The Line”.
The last album is the 1985 ‘Sportin’ Life’ the sixth and final album by the band
Mink DeVille which they recorded at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio
in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, using members of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section
Roger Hawkins (drums), David Hood (bass), and Jimmy Johnson (guitar).
With ten amazing tracks that includes “In the Heart of the City“, “Slip Away“,
“Something Beautiful Dying“ and of course the cult hit “Italian Shoes“.
Truly four gems from one of the most original bands of American rock with their
blend of rock, blues, Spanish soul and punk.
