Back History on this actual record:
In the mid-to-late 90’s while traveling cross country buying/selling records, at record swaps, I came across an older gentleman that was selling his personal collection. This was in the mid-west somewhere. He had mostly Jazz & some Pop (Beatles/Kinks… etc…). But, sticking out like a drunk at church was this LP. When I inquired, the old-man lit-up, his recollection was that during Minor Threat’s 1983 tour the band crashed at his house. He mentioned playing Frisbee Football (“I woke up bruised from head to toe”) & as a parting request he had them sign this LP. Being the hoarder that I am, I purchased it.
Fast forward to 2015:
Deciding to sell this LP I noticed that is has 5 (five) signatures. That’s right, during, the bands, May/April, 1983, tour – YES, that tour. The sole time Steve Hansgen went out on tour is when this LP was signed.
I realize this is a far-fetched fairytale record, so I made the effort & reached out & located Steve Hansgen. He verified the signatures & the time period. To quote Hansgen: “WOW, okay that’s a window into my 18th year! …and judging by my definitively 18 year old scrawl this was signed while we were actually on the Out Of Step tour in March-May of 1983.” – “I can’t be sure who it was signed for but it was absolutely done while we on tour. I haven’t signed my name like that in 30 years! Very cool.”
This is a serious historical document. 100% authentic. This LP will come w/ a COA; verified by an authentic Punk Rock Scholar & historian.
CONDITION: vinyl: strong VG+, vinyl has high gloss & shine w/ a few very faint surface scratches when looked at under light at angle. Cover: strong VG+, cover has nice original gloss w/ no tears or rips. cover does, however have a slight crease across the top & a faint dog-ear on top right. the eyes focus on the signature - it's really hard to notice anything else.
this is a serious historical document.
