Description
[Revised as of 9/21/10]. Ok, in response to a bidder question I've listed below the complete matrix info and was able to confirm based on the discography available at Misfits Central (http://www.misfitscentral.com/misfits/discog.php) that this is indeed the first pressing on translucent black vinyl. Held up to the light, I can see right through the vinyl.
Issued on the Plan 9 label with a Grand Central Station P.O. address on the jacket but no date, the LP labels say "1983." No bar code (see pics). The matrix numbers on the run-out track say "PL-902-A" and "PL-902-B" respectively. Cover art by Mad Mark Rude who also did the cover art for the Tex & The Horseheads 12" EP.
The complete markings on the run-off tracks are as follows: Side A, in addition to "PL - 902 - A" has a "$" (a dollar sign), "$M-3" (with some additional hash marks through the dollar sign - looks like a "V" with an inverted "V" on top of it), "Masterdisk," and "EDP" (the last two markings are not hand-etched but instead look like they were pressed in with a stamp).
Side B just says "PL - 902 - B" and "Masterdisk" which, again, is not hand-etched but has been pressed in with a machine.
I try to grade conservatively so that you won't be disappointed. LP looks mint-minus except for some etched scratches in the run-off track (presumably put there by the pressing plant) and a finger print or two on Side B. The cover is also mint/mint minus - crisp, sharp corners - a really nice copy.
I use brand new, heavy gauge cardboard LP mailers to ensure the record arrives safely. I can ship this LP for $3.50 via media mail and $6.00 via priority mail - your choice. I will also combine shipping costs to save you money if you buy multiple LP's. Foreign buyers, contact me for shipping costs.
