Description
Chesapeake (Piedmont) PLP-13161, “Worried Blues” with Mississippi John Hurt, guitar and vocals; from 1964. Recorded at the Ontario Place in Washington DC. The original Chesapeake-label vinyl (Piedmont had several imprints, and this was one) plays at NM with virtually no background sound. The jacket has some rubwear on the front (see scan) but is very clean; seams are strong and corners are square, there are no bends or writing. There is slight age discoloration on the back. Songs are “Lazy Blues”, “Farther Along”, “Sliding Delta”, “Nobody Cares for Me”, “Cow Hooking Blues”, “Talkin’ Casey”, “Weepin’ and Wailin’”, ‘Worried Blues”, “Oh Mary Don’t You Weep”, and “I Been Cryin’ Since You Been Gone”. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $20.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. A few record labels such as Folkways may be slightly more expensive to ship overseas. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $13.00 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
