Description
Glossy and great playing E++ condition Columbia Jazz 78rpm recorded in New York on July 20, 1928, Featuring the Mississippi Maulers only two sides for Columbia, and featuring Jazz greats Tommy Dorsey on Trombone, Joe Venuti on Violin, Frank Signorelli on Piano, and Eddie Lang on Guitar, also sitting in on this session were Leo McConville & Bill Moore on Trumpet, Dudley Fosdick on melophone, Fud Livingston on Clarinet and Tenor Sax, Joe Tarto brass bass, Stan King on drums and two entertaining Vocals (with yodeling on the Mess around side) by Roy Evans. The two hot Jazz Selections are My Angeline & Don't Mess Around with Me. Please review my grading details below. I inspect each record visually and by test playing. Payment is by paypal, and shipping will be by USPS priority Mailing. All of my packaging of these fragile 78's is done safely by sandwiching the records between sturdy Cardboard and surrounding it with bubble wrap before placing it in a Cardboard box surrounded by packing peanuts, and the Box is Stamped FRAGILE. I have set a very reasonable opening minimum and No Reserve and will let it go from there. Best of Luck on your bidding.
My grading system is simple
M - I was transported back in time to a record store and purchased new stock and returned to 2017.
M- It looks like new old stock but I can't prove it.
E+ It looks and plays really fantastic, visual grading under light may have detected very minimal light surface scuffs and maybe some tiny surface scratches
E It has been obviously been handled and played a number of times, it may have typical minor scuffs and some surface scratches as you would find on most records of this vintage, but still plays really great
E- , quite a few signs of scuffing and other surface blemishes and scratches but still enjoyable.
G+ A serious collector would turn his nose up at it, but a beginner would jump in, sound quality far from great, starting to fade much more gray and little gloss left, and almost ready for the Old record retirement home.
G Been through a war and looks like it was played 100's of times with worn steel needle, A wall hanger or target practice item, or for those who just wanted to say they have one
