Purchased on release day, sold out in an instant! This is a brand new sealed copy of “Moanin” by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. All analog mastering by the world renowned Kevin Gray. Original copies of this LP go for A lot of $$$$ This is a great way to get your hands on a mint copy with that warm analog sound. Many feel that this newly analog mastered audiophile edition will outperform OG copies sonically on modern systems.


Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers' 1958 album Moanin' was the perfect crystallization of the band's bluesy, soulful sound. Featuring Lee Morgan, Benny Golson, Bobby Timmons and Jymie Merritt, it still stands as one of the most quintessential hard bop recordings ever. It includes the indelible Golson compositions "Along Came Betty," and "Blues March," Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series is all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Optimal.
