Description
This is hard letting go of my vinyl collection. But you'll enjoy them for me!! Up for auction this time is a near mint copy of Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Also billed on the record is Dallas Taylor and Greg Reeves. The record is near mint + +, both the vinyl and jacket. I listened to the record a few times back in the day and today for old times sake. It plays beautifully no flaws what so ever. Its one of the first reissued titles from Mobile Fidelity sound Labs, 1980-81. It was one of 5000 limited edition titles of the early pressings from Japan. Its a 200 gram copy. Its still in the original Record Factory outer plastic and price label attached. Good Luck

FEEDBACK!! I promise to give feedback, after I receive it, thank you.
RECORDS (VINYLS) ARE VISUALLY GRADED USING THE RATING SYSTEM BELOW:
MINT (M)---- It should appear to be perfect. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits. Mint means perfect.
PLAYGRADE - NOT GIVEN ON THIS LEVEL AS VINYL HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED.
NEAR MINT (NM)---- Otherwise mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not affect play. Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident: slight ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should all be noted properly.
PLAYGRADE - VINYL PLAYS PERFECT, NO NOISE SKIPS OR STICKS WHATSOEVER. THIS RATING I PROBABLY WOULDN'T GIVE ANY RECORD AS THEY ALL HAVE SOME FLAW.
VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+)---- The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully. Not too far from perfect. On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or the vinyl or some of the original luster may be lost. A slight scratch that did not affect play would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors.
PLAYGRADE - THIS IS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF RATING I WILL GIVE A VINYL. A PLAYGRADE OF THIS LEVEL MEANS THIS VINYL PLAYS CLEAN, LITTLE OR NO BACKGROUND HISS, SNAP CRACKLES OR POPS AND NO STICKS OR SKIPS
VERY GOOD (VG)---- Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails. Some audible surface noise, but should not overwhelm the musical experience. Usually a cover is VG when one or two of these problems are evident: ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, etc.
PLAYGRADE ON THIS LEVEL MEANS THERE IS SOME BACKGROUND NOISE IN THE FORM OF SNAP, CRACKLE OR POPS AND A POSSIBLE ONE OR TWO STICKS OR SKIPS.
GOOD (G)---- Well played with little luster and significant surface noise. Despite defects, record should still play all the way through without skipping. Several cover flaws will be apparent, but should not obliterate the artwork.
PLAYGRADE - VINYLS ON THIS LEVEL WILL HAVE NOTICEABLE BACKGROUND NOISE AND POSSIBLY A NUMBER OF STICKS OR SKIPS
FAIR (F) - Well played with surface noise evident and a few sticks on no more than three of the tracks. Cover is clean showing little wear but the spine or ends may be split.
VERY NOTICABLE BACKGROUND NOISE WITH MANY STICKS OR SKIPS PRESENT.
POOR (P)---- Any record or cover that does not qualify for the above "Fair" grading should be seen as Poor. Several cover flaws.
• PLAYGRADE - THE VINYL IS UNPLAYABLE WITH MANY MANY STICKS OR SKIPS. ONLY VALUE WOULD BE IS FOR THE LABEL AND RECORD JACKET.
On Mar-23-16 at 17:10:54 PDT, seller added the following information:This new information just came in from a MFSL expert...I took the things I read from the album sleeve as blanket specs for all MFSL titles. The fact still remains...it's a super quiet recording, the condition is the same as described and you'll enjoy owning it. Kevin, from oldbowseller
PS with this new info if you want to cancel a bid, I understand and no hard feelings.
Howdy -
Great offering! Just to clarify a few things for other folks who may be looking at this. It is not 200g rather it weighs in right around 136g. MFSL 1-088 Deja Vu was not the limited edition series of 5000 from Mobile Fidelity. The Limited Edition series from Mobile Fidelity is 200g only limited to 6 titles from their MFQR/UHQR series which are highly sought after, along with some other MFSL Anadisks that come out in that 200g figure. In the early days, Mobile Fidelity promised their customers that all standard pressings, like this CSNY Deja Vu, would not exceed more than 20,000 copies; although Dark Side was pressed around 25,000 copies beginning in 1979 through 1981.
