Original 1968 US pressing of Moby Grape's "Wow" LP on the Columbia label. Promo-only Mono mix, white labels (stock copies are all stereo!) Includes DJ timins strip.
Grading:
Sleeve: VG Solid, shelf-wear, no splits, legible spine
Vinyl: VG- Plays great, but has a number of light paper scuffs which cause scattered light background crackles, audible mostly between tracks
Notes:
Moby Grape's second LP, Wow, has a more heavily produced sound than the first Moby Grape album. String and horn arrangements were added to many of the songs by producer David Rubinson. Recording started in Los Angeles in late 1967, but most of the album was recorded in New York City in late 1967 and early 1968. Track five on Side A is pressed at 78RPM - this and all first pressings feature a spoen introduction prompting the listener to change speeds on the turntable; this is followed by a blank locked-groove, which does not allow the needle to advance unless the listener physically moves it to the next track (which actualy plays at 78 RPM).
