Modern English Swans On Glass ULTRA RARE 7” Mispress with The Who’s Pete Townshend on B-side 4AD 1980 AD6 (second release ever)
Ultra rare copy of Modern English first release on 4AD supposed to be Swans on Glass/Incident but B-side has mispress of Pete Townshend (‘Classified’ 3.58 and ‘Greyhound’ 3.06) from his 7” release ‘Let Love Open My Door’
Took AGES when I discovered this on my copy to work out the B-side as was days before Internet. Had to search paper record catalogue at record shop using vinyl run out code of K11496 (Atco Records!)
Also of interest to collectors as there is a graphic on the rear of sleeve showing where 4AD new name came from, changing from Axis for legal reasons after fourth release, so this became 4ADs second (sixth) release as the second (fifth) by Rema-Rema Wheel In The Roses BAD5 didn’t have this graphic.

1984WARD > 4WARD > 4.AD
Sleeve is card, no paper inner sleeve. Bit battered, but easy enough to pick up a standard copy and swap them as no difference to this and mispress. This sleeve has dent to corner that has resulted in folds and top edge has small creases, slight ring mark too.
