Description
This is part of a large auction of blues, doo-wop, jazz & R&B 10" 78's from the late 1940's into the 50's. There are a handful of unusual small labels represented here as well as some promos and several early recordings by performers who would go on to be big stars.

Release: Grady Chapman & The Suedes - I Need You So / Don't Blooper
Format: 78 rpm 10" shallac record
Year: 1954
Notes: Orange label first pressing. This is the first record by Chapman, who is from South Carolina, and his only with "The Suedes". He would later go on to join The Robins, but would only record sporadically. A-side is a straight R&B jumper with a Little Richard flair to it. B-side is a semi-ballad track with a great crescendo. An obscure record that is very much worth hearing.
Record Condition: E, The record itself is in really nice shape & plays very well, almost no background noise at all. Has a handful of light scuffs, but nothing that affects play to any degree. Sound is clean and clear. Labels are also very clean with no writing/tears/scuffs. Visually, it doesn't look perfect, but the sound is very close to E+.
All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. I am an experienced grader and use the VJM grading system, but please see pictures as so much of this is subjective. These will be shipped in sleeves in a cardboard sandwich in an oversize box for maximum protection.
