Personnel: Rouse tenor, Monk piano, Larry Gales bass, Ben Riley drums. Recorded NY City, *14, **15 Nov.1966 and 10 Jan, 1967.
The quartet toured Japan in May 66. Somehow Monk learned of a tune, well known in Japan, "Kojo no Tsuki", written in 1901. The title roughly translates as "The moon over a desolate castle". This very quickly became part of his repertoire and was re-titled for this album by Columbia.
