Description
The Monkees-Complete set of twelve "Cereal Box" records. In late 1969 and early 1970, the Monkees popularity was on the wane (Peter had left by now), and an attempt was made to keep them in the public eye. What better way than to put them on cereal boxes? There were a total of twelve discs, four on Honeycomb, four on Rice Krinkles and four on Alpha Bits. These have survived in various conditions. All are visually fine, but all but two do not play all the way through without at least a skip or two; a couple barely play, and one is bent and won't play at all. However, for a small plastic coated piece of cardboard, they've done pretty well. Nobody at the time, even in their wildest dreams, must have thought these would become collector's items 30 years later. This is the first time I'm aware of that they have been presented on eBay as a complete set. The 12 songs are: "The Monkees Theme","Teardrop City","Papa Gene's Blues","The Day We Fall In Love","Last Train To Clarksville","I Wanna Be Free","Forget That Girl","Valleri","I'm A Believer","Pleasant Valley Sunday","Steppin' Stone","Mary, Mary". This set is a must have for the serious Monkees collection. Attention Monkees collectors: Add me to your Favorite Sellers list. US shipping is $3.50 Media Mail or $5.50 Priority mail. Everywhere else please e-mail me. Check out my other auctions and my eBay store "Headquarters Music" for more rare vinyl and CD's.
