The Monks were five beat playing American GIs stationed in Germany who, after their discharge,
decided to stay and continue their musical mission. Meeting up with a team of local managers, they
transformed themselves and their sound into a holy racket like the world had never known. This
five-person order literally birthed the above genres through a fuzz-drenched evolution of
sound, bursting with social commentary and future primitive rhythms.

Light In The Attic is ecstatic to present the Monks recorded legacy in this lavishly packaged
and lovingly researched reissue  Black Monk Time. Numerous period photographs (many unseen)
 and an extensive two-part essay by Canadian music journalist Kevin Howes (Jamaica-Toronto series)
accompany both releases and tell the Monks story like it has never been told. Bonus material
dating back to pre-Monks Torquays and up to post Black Monk Time 45s are also included. Deluxe
set includes booklet featuring rare archive photos, liner notes and lyrics.

LP PACKAGING
We package our LPs in a thick cardboard LP mailer. 
We ALWAYS take the LP out of the jacket of 2nd hand items to 
avoid any seam splitting that could occur in shipment. 
We put the LP and the jacket in an LP plastic sleeve. 
We do NOT open sealed LPs unless requested. 
We cushion the LP in bubble wrap and use shipping tape 
on all spines to protect the integrity of the box, and to 
insure the safety of the contents. All this is included in

the low shipping price. We will clean your purchase on our 
VPI machine if and when necessary. This insures that 
you receive your item in the best possible condition.

 LP SHIPPING
We offer the US Postal Service’s Media Mail and / or Priority 
for shipping in the U.S. Buyer’s choice. The buyer pays the shipping, 
packing (see above) and handling charges. Tracking is included 
with both. We occasionally run domestic shipping specials. 
Signing up for our newsletter will give you early warnings. 
Shipping to other countries is by the United States Postal 
Service's First Class Mail International. Priority International 
Is also available.
