Moody fans are in an excellent position to insist on ONLY the very BEST from their early collectible pressings. It needs to be a corker - it HAS to be....
An original 1st stereo press of OTTOAD on UK Deram. Note the labels are absolutely consistent with very 1st press in spring 1969. Inverted matrix number. Stereo format emboldened. No Registered Deram logo. Matrix 2W/2W - 1st cut. Stampers 1BH/1BH . The heavy-set [super chunky} vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with the lyric page booklet loose and laminated exterior with wide-spine. We also have an original blue/stereo Decca inner sleeve too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection there are a couple of very slightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. With MOODY the MOST difficult aspect of sourcing copies is that their audio is typically some of the most delicate and intricate of anything that ever entered the charts. You're going to need a really well preserved copy to stand even half a chance of a decent rendition. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A really really clean player which will give you maximum opportunity to take in these classic tracks to full effect. I most certainly have NEVER witnessed a better/cleaner copy than this spring-69 copy. All sections play clean and I'm struggling to pick out anything at all in the background. Just a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex-) In great condition and that exterior lamination really does make all the difference. That front is looking extremely smart with barely a single crease. The opening panel can get deformed - but here it is totally preserved with full rigidity. The rear is looking just as good as the front - just a couple of surface level laminate creases. The interior looks well above average and hasn't succumbed to the usual level of ageing. There is, however, just a touch of ageing evident at the edges. The Booklet is detached and in one complete section. A few foxing spots on the front page - otherwise aok. The spine is in pretty much perfect condition. There's no edge wear at all and the openings are still sharp. The cover still retains excellent rigidity. Sweet!
Inner (Vg+) A bit of light little ageing evident. Bag present. No splits.
