The Complete Blue Note Recordings of the Tina Brooks Quintets- Mosaic MR4-106
Ahh…Tina Brooks, a classic bop tale, dead by 42, heroin addict, recordings shelved until after he died, but one of the hard-bopinist tenor players of the classic Blue Note era. His sides are loaded with bop titans of the era including Lee Morgan, Sonny Clark, Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, Paul Chambers, Kenny Drew and Paul Chambers to list a few. What a treat to hear those guys on near mint vinyl! Mosaic recognized Tina’s under appreciated talent and meticulously reissued his Blue Note quintet sessions in 1985 in a beautiful boxed limited edition and numbered boxed set.
The box, booklet and 4 LPs are in near mint condition with very little evidence of use. It’s just a wonderful collectible with great music, informative reading and value-holding staying power. I have two other Mosaic sets up this week so check out my other auctions.
I’ll use USPS media mail as my default but if you want priority please specify and pay for it. I’m an experienced shipper and am confident in my ability to get these records to you undamaged. It’s doubtful USPS segregates media parcels for special extra rough handling. I don’t think they have that kind of time on their hands. They treat all parcels with the exact same amount special extra rough handling unless you want it overnighted, then the extra special rough handling only lasts a day. You just have to pack for it.
