The Mothers Of Invention - Freak Out!
(Verve SVLP 9154 UK LP 1966)
This is a UK original Stereo LP pressing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve. It comes with its original company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press A-1/ B-1 matrix stampers. The Verve labels have the "Sold in UK..." text.
The 1st UK pressing of this LP was only issued as a single LP. In the States it was originally issued as a double LP. UK originals of this LP are quite rare.
Sleeve: There are some scratch marks to the bottom area of the front sleeve, & on the bottom edge in some areas. There is some mild to more moderate fading on the rear sleeve. There is some mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some mild ringwear too. VG condition
Vinyl: Sadly this is a well played copy. It even jumps midway through Side 2. There are a fair amount, or considerable, sleeve rubs that can be seen under a strong light. There are approx 9-10 marks also. One of these marks, on Side 2, is a 4 cm mark that goes around the groove. This marks feels to the touch. It also causes about 3 mild jumps midway through the track "Help I'm A Rock". It is on a "heavy breathing" part & doesn't detract too much from the track. There is a very small 1 cm mark on the first track on Side 1 which causes a few mild clicks. Overall the LP plays Good+ to VG & even VG+ in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. There are also a few light intermittent clicks on the track "Motherly Love" & into the track "Wowie Zowie". These are not too obtrusive. There are a couple of light clicks midway through another track too. Fair condition. The labels are in vg+ condition & show mild to more moderate spindle wear. The company paper inner sleeve is in VG condition. There is some light to mild ringwear & creasing. There is a mild seam split at the bottom.
