Originally released in June 1985, Theater of Pain, Mötley Crüe's third studio album, ushered in a bold new sound and fresh look, while maintaining the band's signature hard rock intensity. This trend-setting album set the style and musical blueprint for many bands that followed, as the Crüe continued to evolve their look and sound with each new release.
Theater of Pain was Crüe's first LP to enter the US Top 10, reaching #6. It was also a true global success: 7th in Australia, 7th in Sweden, 5th in Finland, 11th in Canada and their first Top 40 album in the UK (36th place). The album is currently certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA in the United States and 3x Platinum in Canada. The tour took them around the world: Japan, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.
The seminal video for their iconic song “Home Sweet Home” was the most requested for over 90 days, prompting MTV to introduce the “Crüe Rule,” which meant a video could only be requested for 30 days. - Tracklist: Disc 1
