Baron Elmo proudly presents a rare treat from the discography of 80's metal behemoths MOTLEY CRUE: a sealed copy of the very limited repressed original version of their 1981 debut Too Fast For Love, issued in 2005 by Hip-O Select. This is a handsome new edition of the first album on the Leathur label with the original track listing, made even more essential by the addition of a bonus 7-inch single: "Stick to Your Guns," backed with "Toast of the Town," a killer non-lp B-side. Though reviled by critics (Dean of Rock Criticism Robert Christgau memorably called this album "utter dogshit") Motley Crue's music was a blast of rockin' bad-boy attitude at a time when the airwaves were saturated with weedy New Wave nerds and disco retreads. These guys were at the forefront of the post-punk metal revival, making life worth living again for teenage boys everywhere and enraging square parents. The Crue would become massive superstars before succumbing to the champagne and glitz – much to the detriment of their music. But during these early years, the boys were still hungry enough to bring the rock, forever captured for posterity on Too Fast For Love. This Hip-O edition of the album with the bonus 7-inch was an insanely limited item that was mostly sold through mail order. Once the initial batch ran out, it was not repressed. Here's your chance to get a pristine, still-in-the-shrink-wrap copy.
