Mott The Hoople 1st Press UK LP Brain capers VG+ ’71 Pink Rim island ILPS9178
Original 1st Press UK LP released in 1971 on the Pink Rim Island Records Label. Cat: ILPS9178. Comes with printed inner bag which has some light age spots and small seam splits on bottom edge and left edge and is in VG condition.Re-teaming with producer Guy Stevens, Mott the Hoople delivered the great forgotten British hard rock album with their fourth outing, Brain Capers. Stevens was a legendary rock & roll wildman and he kept Mott careening through their performances; they sound harder than ever, even dangerous at times. Fortunately, this coincided with Ian Hunter's emergence as a fantastic songwriter, as tuneful and clever as any of his peers. All these changes are evident from the moment Brain Capers kicks in with the monumental "Death May Be Your Santa Claus," a phenomenally pile-driving number that just seems inevitable. As it gives way to a cover of Dion's "Your Own Backyard," it becomes clear that Mott have pulled off the trick of being sensitive while still rocking.

Labels are lovely and clean. Record has some light scuff marks and very light scratches which cause some light crackles throughout and is in VG+ condition. Cover has light ring wear, a few light marks, a light crease mark on top right corner, light scuffing on corners and a few tiny surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
