Description
Unique Mounted theatre memorabilia – Undated but believed to be 1920`s or maybe before of “The Doyly Carte
Revival of Gilbert and Sullivan at the Princes Theatre” and extracted from The Sphere magazine, London.This is a Plate which is inscribed " From a drawing in colour by H M Brock" - whether it is actually a colouring by H M Brock is not clear but he did a great deal of work for the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company for whom he produced posters and other advertising materials. Bought from an antique fair in 1990`s.
Hand written notes of major characters - some illegible and may be signatures plus colouring of many performers . Black/Ebony type frame 26cm by 20cm
Please contact if you would like additional photos/close up. Reverse of frame has been cut (no damage to picture) and we were told this was probably to see if any letters etc were stored in the framing.
