Description
This is Karl Bohm's second recording of Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte with the Vienna Philharmonic, after his first back in 1959 for Angel / EMI, this one recorded in 1977 with soloists including Janowitz, Fassbaender, Prey and Schreier.
This is on Deutsche Grammophon DG 36522102-V-TP and is recorded Dolby B encoded in 4 track stereo, at 7 1/2 ips on 2 tapes. It's mastered by Stereotape / Magtec, who did wonderful things at the end of the tape era, not quite Barclay-Crocker, but very close in my view.
All tapes are play tested on one of my own tape decks before listing and I check for no signs of oxide shed during play or fast winding.
