Muddy Waters and his Guitar Mississippi Blues Extented Play Record. 1956. (recorded by Chess Cicago)

London Tri centre label RE-U-1060 ( has the Record Collector 2006 price guide got the cat number wrong or just a typo?) Matrix EPMP-40098-1C and EPMP-40991C. Stampers 1/BH and 1/CH. Viewed under strong light there are a few faint hairlines only. I have playtested this on both sides and there is very mild surface noise on limited parts of this record but in my opinion this really does not impede on the simply stunning vocals, guitar playing and music content. I would have no hesitation to grade this near excellent condition.

The cover is double flipback with no rips or tears and retains that glossy shinny appearance. The front and rear show some ringwear but this is only under close inspection. The opening edge has very mildly started to turn back and there is a very slight mark on the front cover above the D and Y of "Muddy". I would grade this as near excellent again.
