Rare 1950 boxed 45rpm issue of this classic strange Theremin pre-space-age-pop lounge/exotica/jazz album with cheesecake cover, originally issued on 78s in 1947. This historic recording marked the first time the Theremin was heard outside of a few film scores, and is largely credited with introducing the early electronic instrument to the masses. It is also Les Baxter's first album, featuring him conducting compositions written by Harry Revel with Samuel Hoffman playing the Theremin. From the notes: "The music in this album is in reality an exploration . . using exotic harmonies, timbre and composition to play upon the more remote realm of human emotions... It is music that can affect the sensitive mind in a way that is sometimes frightening . . always fascinating." Other international destinations vary as does the cost of adding additional lps depending on weight, email for a quote. Packing I pack professionally and with the utmost care drawn from years of experience trading vinyl internationally. I use new record mailers from Cameron Packaging (which I have determined are the best and most protective) reinforced with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap padding. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves and with the vinyl outside of the cover to prevent damage. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings. Unless requested, no paper invoice is included in the package, both to save trees and to avoid customs difficulties. If you'd like your package done any differently, just let me know.
