Mega rare and essential early 60s collection of fantastic experimental early electronic musique concrete works realized at the Groupe de Recherches Musicales and Gravesano studios using tape-manipulated field recordings and electronically processed instruments. The live ensemble in the Brown work is conducted by Gilbert Amy in this much rarer recording than the more common composer-conducted version on CRI. Highly recommended, and surely harder to find than the equally great Musique Expérimentale I lp.

Ferrari was an electroacoustic composer who studied under Honegger, Alfred Cortot, and Messiaen, and along with Pierre Schaeffer and Pierre Henry helped found the INA-GRM musique concrete studios (which would become a center of study for pioneers like Francois Bayle, Michel Chion, Jean-Claude Risset, Francois Bernard Mache, Ivo Malec, Bernard Parmegiani, Michel Redolfi, Ragnar Grippe, Jon Appleton, Jean Michel Jarre, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Edgar Varese, and Iannis Xenakis). • Earle Brown studied the Joseph Schillinger method of composition under Brogue Henning and is known for his use of graphic notation, improvisation, and open form in his scores; he was a member of the New York School of experimental American composers (John Cage, Morton Feldman, David Tudor, Christian Wolff). • Mache studied composition under Messiaen and is also a writer and an expert in Greek archaeology. • Bayle studied with Messiaen, Henri Pousseur, Schaeffer, and Stockhausen.

Packing I pack professionally and with the utmost care drawn from years of experience trading vinyl internationally. I use new record mailers which I have determined are the best and most protective, reinforced with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap padding. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves and with the vinyl outside of the cover to prevent damage. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings. Unless requested, no paper invoice is included in the package, both to save trees and to avoid customs difficulties. If you'd like your package done any differently, just let me know.
