MUSKETEER GRIPWEED (JOHN LENNON) - 'HOW I WON THE WAR'
1967 UK 1st PRESSING 45
This 45 was released in 1967 from the film of the same name & credited to 'Musketeer Gripweed (John Lennon's character in the film) and the Third Troop'. The track itself features Ken Thorne's orchestrated theme interspersed with sound effects and actual dialogue from the film.
The disc itself is a much rarer stock copy bearing the black & silver United Artists label: UP 1196
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' statement and have 'EMI Records...' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is present in the centre of the side 1 label.
It is housed in its original 'United Artists' company cover.

A clean and bright pair with slight wear to the centre on the 'A' side but the other is clean & unworn.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both surfaces are clean, bright & glossy with no scuffs, marks or scratches whatsoever in strong daylight. Close inspection directly beneath halogen light reveal some harmless wispy hairlines but no other marks or wear whatsoever. Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping. Tough to find in any condition.
Play: EXCELLENT
This copy has received very little play and is happily without any groove/play wear on either side. There are no clicks, pops or any other such audible distraction anywhere.
