Description
Elvis Presley: Sun Label Number 23, “Mystery Train” and on the ‘B’side, “I Forgot To Remember To Forget.” Date of issue -1955. This, of course, is an original. You may know the story; Sam Phillips cuts two 45’s for Elvis in 1954, and three more in 1955 – Five records, ten songs, they helped to erupt, corrupt and disrupt the popular music of the day, and galvanized different musical genres. The matrix numbers in the trail off area are 455-U-156-X and 45-U-157-X.
Time and care were taken to provide good, quality photos, so you know exactly what you’re getting.
This seven inch honey has light scratches of course, but it does pass the flat finger nail test. There is a slight dip in the record, but it is not particularly apparent visually, especially on the 'A' side “Mystery Train,” and does not affect the playability. As a collector, you may not be buying this disc to play, but if you do decide to play the forty five, you will discover that it plays straight through, beginning to end, and does not run or skip on either side. The seller has played the forty five twice, both sides, no skips.
