Mario Nascimbene - Melodie e ritmi - Canzoni varie e tradizionali
Italian pressing, Meridiana SMR 504 (~1968)
Top rare Italian library on the private label Meridiana. Music by Mario Nascimbene directed and played by Roberto Pregadio in trio and quartet. Includes the monster spinet\organ\piano jazz USA SWING that just sounds like it was take from his rare 'Organ + piano + spinetta' library on Wild cat label! UNA BOSSA PER VOI is also superb, with Marcello Boschi killing at the flute; SWING IN QUARTET and FOX-TROT IN QUARTET are great too, with the mighty Franco Chiari at the vibes and SLOW DELLA SERA is beautiful blue nightclub jazz. Even a couple of superb old-fashioned jazzy moves with nice scat by the vocal group (maybe the Alessandroni singers!). Killer, listen!
