Description
You are bidding on the long out of print and impossible to find Navio Forge LP "As We Quietly Burn A Hole Into...". This often overlooked and incredibley rare piece of emo history was pressed up after the band's quick demise in 1993 on Shadow Catcher Records. The band only played two shows ever in their Californian hometown, and this intense, raging 7 song masterpiece of a record stands as their only recorded output. Similarly important in the emo community as Rites Of Spring or Moss Icon, this band was tragicly short lived, and the record stands as an amazing document of something so intense and important, but just out of reach. An emo classic. The band self-released this LP on thier own label, and i'm pretty sure it was limited to 500 or 750 copies. Certainly 1,000 or less were pressed, though I have no definative count. This version is for sure the rarest of the already rare single pressing, as it is packaged not in a printed jacket like most of them, but a hand-silkscreened jacket, made from other hardcore record covers turned inside-out and screened over. Amazing!!! How many of these were made is also unclear, but usually a band will make a small run of these hand-done editions for the finished records that they want to sell at shows before the printed covers come back from the factory, or if there are more records made than covers. My guess is that they had 500 covers printed and maybe had 600 or so records made, leaving a bunch without covers that they had to make these diy versions for. It's anyone's guess, but the point is, it's the super rare version of a super rare and super good record. Original pressing, original sleeve, includes all original inserts, lyric sheets, etc. A must have for anyone serious about the roots of emo, hardcore or punk.
This record has been cleaned on a professional grade VPI record cleaning machine. Having inspected the vinyl and sleeve under a 200 watt bulb, I would describe both as near mint minus- the vinyl is in impeccable condition with only the slightest, lightest marks which cannot be felt and do not effect play. It's highly possible the record has only been played a few times. The sleeve, a folded over reused record jacket with hand-done silkscreening is free of ringwear, discoloration, etc. The only defects in the sleeve come from when they tore apart the Ebbuliton record jacket and turned it inside out to make this one. This record is in overall fantastic shape.
This record will be shipped in a new cardboard mailer designed for shipping records, NOT in some jury-rigged postal box.
