NEIL DIAMOND
“SOLO PARA TI”
(JUST FOR YOU)
MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Microfon Records very first MONO press released in Chile in 1969 by Microfon Records, made and distributed by Asociación Fonográfica Nacional “ASFONA” M.R. (ASFONA Records), licensed from Microfon Records Argentina under license from Bang Records Inc., New York, U.S.A., catalog number VBP-291, with hand etched matrix numbers VBP-291 AA in Side 1 and VBP-291-B- EB in Side 2, with red/black Microfon Records labels. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“JUST FOR YOU” is the second studio album by Neil Diamond, originally released in 1967, and we had to wait until 1969 to see this great album released here in Chile and as usual those years, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of an only piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle with sheets of paper as front and back covers attached to the cardboard (only glued in the mouth edge), so 3 sides are opened faking a gatefold cover and kept together for an outer plastic bag. Front and back covers keep strictly the original artwork, with album title written in English only and the blue advice of song “Kentucky Woman”. Back cover has the album title written in Spanish only, with the tracklist written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriter, and the review of Bert Berns written in Spanish only. If you know this album you could have already noticed the fact that makes this issue and UNIQUE PRESS, here in Chile this album has the song “Kentucky Woman” included instead of original “Cherry Cherry” which’s omitted. In original issue the songs adviced in front cover are “Shilo” or “Thank The Lord For The Night Time”. You can see and compare in this link: http://www.discogs.com/Neil-Diamond-Just-For-You/release/2010294. In labels album title and tracklist are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters of each song. So, here you have the chance to own this interesting record with an UNIQUE COVER, MONO SOUND and UNIQUE TRACKLIST, with song “Kentucky Woman” replacing “Cherry Cherry”!!! WOW!!! Another great FIND!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great G+ or VG- condition, clean, no ring marks, no writings, no marks of any kind, but severe wear in the mouth edge, with missing parts, bends, creases and little rips, moderate age browning in back cover, but the artwork is still almost intact. The record is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only some scuffs, light hairlines and very soft scratches hard to see at first sight, the record has a light warp which’s clearly noticed when you play the Side 1, but not when you play the Side 2, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in absolute EX or EX+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with no marks or writings, only minimal spindle hole wear and a faint discoloration. The sound is in superb EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some hiss and light crackles, more evident in the silent parts between tracks, which don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, most of song sounds in strong EX+ condition. Overall, a great record sure not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but with still a nice cover, immaculate labels and great sound quality which won’t disappoint anyone even after about 52 years, with no distortions, skips or repetitions at all!!! And keep in mind this album has an UNIQUE COVER, it’s a MONO PRESS and has the song “Kentucky Woman” announced in front cover!!! WOW!!! Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
