Description

Up for auction is a nice, early pressing of the Neil Young album "After The Gold Rush" originally released in the U.S. on Reprise Records (RS 6383) in 1970.

-Guaranteed original pressing
-Early RE2/RE2 etched in run-out matrix
-Artisan mastering symbols in both run-outs
-Original paste-down gatefold cover w/ only Nils Lofgren Piano credit
-No lyric sheet included
-Vintage Warner Bro/Reprise inner sleeve
-No UPC/bar code on cover

Note:
Later reissues had a different Piano credit on the back of the album cover, which included Neil Young and Jack Nitzsche.  Original covers gave only Nils Lofgren piano credit.

Also, early pressings have the Artisan mastering marks in the deadwax--a small square with two antennae--which many collectors consider to denote superior sound quality to later, non-Artisan pressings.

Condition:
Cover is in very nice condition, clean front and back.  Light rubbing on front bottom middle, and along the seams here and there, nothing serious.  No seam splits, very strong.  Spine is tight--maybe has never been opened all the way flat.  Former owner's name printed on back upper left corner.  Very attractive original.  Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+).

Vinyl is very nice, still has its original shine.  Has a few faint, tiny superficial hairlines probably from taking vinyl out of inner sleeve a few times.  Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little previous play or handling.  Nicely preserved.  Grade: Excellent (EX).
