Grading: NM VG++ VG+ VG G Poor
This is NEIL YOUNG Harvest LP from 1972 first US pressing on Reprise Records Stereo MS 2032, gatefold This is the first press label, not with the later Warner Communications logo. Also includes the original fold out lyric insert and custom inner sleeve made of matte finish natural textured paper. A lot of information on Discogs under release number [r 1044287]. This is a Columbia Records Pressing Plant,Terre Haute pressing variation of the original US release as indicated by "T1"etched in the runout area. Matrix/Runout(Runout side A)[variant 7]: MS 2032 31176-1P STERLING LH T1 (under Sterling there is a number 2). Side B runout is the same except 31177-1P and (under the word Sterling is a number 3). The lacquer was cut at Sterling Sound and mastered by LH Lee Hulko Cover: VG+ Light shelf wear; Light wear to corners,no heavy bumps; No splits, writing or tape; The three vertical paper creases on the front are not in the cardboard and occurred in the manufacturing of the jacket because of the heavy textured ostrich paper not rolling out properly. Rear cover and inside are excellent; SPINE: the spine only has print in the center, some issues also have lower print that says Warner Bros /Reprise(I think). This is not mentioned in Discogs but I believe earliest pressings had no mention of manufacturer on spine as this one is. Not many people know about this-I read it somewhere and is very hard to find. Here is one.
Vinyl: VG-VG+ Visual Grade ; Under a bright light there are scratches and light scuffs and does not look new. But I will easily give this record a VG+ aural grade as i really did not hear any distracting noise even in between songs and during the numerous quiet musical passages. No clicks. A really good listen. It just doesn't look great. The marks are not feelable and must be very superficial.
Label: VG No writing or stickers; a little spindle hole wear on side two; under a bright light,when held at an angle I can see some spindle trails on both sides. Insert: VG+ Includes fold out lyric sheet;No writing; No hard bends or folds but the are some light creases that show signs of handling. There is a 1/4" tear top center.
Inner Sleeve: VG Original custom inner sleeve made of matte finish natural textured paper. A 3" tear on each side center and another bottom center.
