Description

An Audiophile Grail Preserved in Time: Neil Young – Live at Massey Hall 1971 (2008 First Pressing)

For serious collectors of physical media, this is the definitive version of what many consider the greatest live acoustic performance ever captured on tape. This is an original, factory-sealed 2008 US first pressing of Live at Massey Hall 1971(Reprise Records – 43328-1). Discogs+ 1

This album captures Neil Young completely solo at the absolute peak of his acoustic powers, rotating between his flat-top Martin guitar and the piano. Because this concert occurred a full year before the release of Harvest, you are hearing the crowd experience future masterpieces like "Old Man" and "Heart of Gold" for the very first time. Why This Copy Melts a Collector’s Butter: Discogs

  • The Master: Cut directly from the original analog master tapes by legendary engineer Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. The dynamic range, instrument separation, and raw presence place you directly in the front row of the hall. You can hear the slide of fingers on the strings and the physical decay of the piano strings in the room.

    Discogs+ 2

  • The Pressing: Pressed at the renowned Pallas plant in Germany, widely recognized for producing some of the quietest, most dimensionally accurate vinyl surfaces in the world.

    Discogs

  • The Vault Grade: This copy has remained completely sealed inside its original factory shrink-wrap for nearly two decades.

Transparency Note on Jacket Wear: To ensure absolute transparency, we note that this copy features a vintage independent retail price sticker from Dearborn Music affixed to the outside of the shrink-wrap on the back cover. There is also some very minor, natural corner softening on the bottom edge from shelf storage over the years. The shrink wrap itself is 100% secure with no breath-hole splits or seam tearing.

Shipping & Returns Policy

Professional Packaging

  • Secure Handling: Your record will be shipped in a dedicated, heavy-duty cardboard mailer (LP or 45 specific) with extra cardboard stiffeners to prevent bending or crushing.

  • Pro-Tip Protection: To prevent seam splits during transit, all opened records are shipped with the vinyl removed from the jacket (housed in its inner sleeve) and placed behind the jacket within a 4mil clear poly outer sleeve.

  • 45s: 7" records are shipped with the same level of care in dedicated 7-inch mailers.

Fast & Tracked Shipping

  • Handling Time: I ship within 1–2 business days of receiving cleared payment.

  • Tracking: A tracking number will be provided immediately upon shipment.

  • Combined Shipping: I am happy to combine shipping. Please wait for a revised invoice before paying to receive the discounted rate.

Returns & Satisfaction

  • The "Collector’s Guarantee": I use strict Goldmine Grading standards. If you feel the record does not match the description or grading, please contact me directly before leaving feedback. I am a collector first and I value your satisfaction.

  • 30-Day Returns: I accept returns within 30 days. The item must be returned in the exact same condition it was received.

  • 🚨 CONDITION POLICY: For opened records, returns are accepted if the item is returned in the same condition as sent. Any new scratches, sleeve scuffs, or damage to the jacket incurred while in the buyer's possession will void the full refund.

  • Shipping Costs: Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs unless there was a significant error in the listing.
