Description

You are bidding on NEIL YOUNG "TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT" album (12"  33 1/3 rpm vinyl). Released on Reprise Records in 1975 (MS 2221) - this is the original American pressing. Band was: Neil Young, vocals, guitars - Nils Lofgren, Danny Whitten, guitars - Billy Talbot, bass - Ralph Molina, drums - Jack Nitsche, piano, plus others! See the photos for the track listing.
Produced by David Briggs & Neil Young, this might be Young's best album. A great disc!  Vinyl is excellent, cover good. The cover is a gatefold, printed on uncoated, textured stock. The inner surface photo is printed on gloss stock. Album also contains the original photo inner sleeve, and rare folder with credits and writing by Young with lettering by the great Rick Griffin!

Robert Christgau's review: "Tonight's the Night [Reprise, 1975] This should end any lingering doubts as to whether the real Neil Young is the desperate recluse who released two albums in the late '60s or the sweet eccentric who became a superstar shortly thereafter. Better carpentered than Time Fades Away and less cranky than On the Beach, it extends their basic weirdness into a howling facedown with heroin and death itself. It's far from metal machine music--just simple, powerful rock and roll. But there's lots of pain with the pleasure, as after all is only "natural." In Boulder, it reportedly gets angry phone calls whenever it's played on the radio. What better recommendation could you ask? A (grade)"
