You are bidding on a mega rare early Brazil only Mono LP on Classic RSCL 4.002 by the internationally renowned Brazilian pianist Nelson Freire. This LP was recorded and issued in Brazil just before he left for Lisbon, Portugal in 1964 where, just before completing 20 years of age, he was awarded the First Prize at the II International Piano Contest “Vianna da Mota”, which launched his extraordinary international career. The selections on this LP are the following: Bach-Busoni: Je t’invoque Seigneur, prelude – coral / Liszt: Forest Murmurs / Debussy: La Plus que Lente / Rachmaninoff: Prelude Op. 32, No. 12 / Chopin: Ballade No. 4 / Brahms: Rhapsody Op. 79, No. 1; Rhapsody Op. 79, No. 2; Rhapsody Op. 118, No. 2; Intermezzo Op. 119, No. 1; Rhapsody in E flat major. Piano recording quality is very good. Please note: Front cover signed and inscribed by Nelson Freire dated 25/12/1967 – Cover Condition: VG+ (some ring wear and creases, sticker removal surface tear on the back cover). Please note: the cover is normally unsealed on top and bottom / Record Condition: VG (some light surface hairlines, few light surface scratches/marks; it still plays through nicely with some noticeable background surface noise/ticks/clicks and occasional pops).
