Each disc has mylar sleeve scuff left on them. 2 sides though are clean and glossy! Overall, all discs are GLOSSY and look unplayed except for the light, transparent sleeve marks. PLAYGRADE: NM Minus. Some feint Surface Noise at the beginning, rest of the discs are Crystal Clear! Sound Fanstastic! Box set is VG+. Has the following library markings on box/records: #2, 3, 4, 6. Bottom right corner of the box is split a little. rest of the corners are intact. Overall, in good shape! slight wear in top right corner and bottom right corner. Contents of Boxset are: Sonata 1 in F Major Opus 5 #1, Sonata 2 in G Minor Opus 5 #2, Sonata 3 in A Major Opus 69, Sonata 4 in C Major Opus 102 #1, Twelve Variations on a Theme from Handel's Judas Maccabeus, Twelve Variations on The Theme "Ein Madchen Oder WEibchen" from Mozart's Die Zauberflote, and Seven Variations on The Theme "Bei Mannern Welche Liebe Fuhlen" from Mozart's Die Zauberflote.

The current auctions of classical albums I have all came from a University library collection and I will continue to keep listing more and more in the weeks to come. There are a few things that need to be noted about these records before you bid on them. Some of the albums have certain things on the jacket and album indicating it came from a library. Some do not have any college stamps or catalog numbers. If that is the case, I will say that in the description. Many of the older recordings i have for auction DO NOT have any library marks.

Some of the records will have the following things on them indicating they are from a library:

  1. bottom left corner of the front jacket will have a small white label with a typed catalog number. This is the library’s own catalog number.
  2. One side of the actual label on the album will have that same small white label with typed catalog number. I have made no efforts to remove these for fear of damage left by the tape.
  3. Sometimes, the jacket will have the library stamp on it. Usually this is on the back cover and I will note that. Not all have that though.
  4. a small tiny envelope will be on the inside of the jacket, where the LP is stored. This is where they would put the small card you would fill out when you wanted to take this album to listen.
  5. Lastly, most of these albums were stored in hard plastic sleeves over the jacket. I took these off. Because of those sleeves, the jackets were kept in immaculate condition. BUT, the library used tape to keep the sleeve on. The tape was placed over the open edges of the jacket (where you slide the LP back in). In some cases, I tried removing the tape. I was able to remove the tape but it left a sticky residue behind on the inside of the jacket. In some cases, I kept the tape on so it is not sticky. I will note the presence of tape or not in each description.
  6. If it is a box set, then there is a catalog number from the library taped on the bottom edge of the spine.

So, because of these defects, all of my covers will be graded at VG+. But I will note if the cover is in EXCELLENT condition otherwise or if it is a clean, no library markings album.

So when I write the description, I will refer to the numbers above regarding what is wrong with the jacket. For Example:

Hans Werner Henze Ode to the West Wind/Violin Concerto. Vinyl is NM. Jacket is VG+. The jacket is in Excellent condition but it has the following library defects/markings : #1, 2, 4, 5. The tape is still intact inside the jacket. Not sticky

Lastly, I realize the grading of these records needs to be more conservative than rock or whatever LPs. I will not list any classical LP that has a scratch(es). I playgraded most of the records so any that had surface noise that was somewhat loud, I did not list. Some of these have very very light surface noise at times. I have done my best to accurately describe the record. I will be using a VG++ grade often here. Though many of these discs are in NM condition, some have been played a few times so there may be some very light marks on the surface. I feel a VG+ grade is too broad, so a VG++ disc is still going to be excellent but with a few scant scuffs maybe or a mark or two that can not be heard.
