REVIEW: In the two decades since the inception of the idea, the computer has established itself as our mose versatile instrument for the generation of sound and the realization of music. As a musical instrument, the computer offers almost unlimited potential to investigate new concepts of timbre, scale structures, and tuning, variegated polyphony and complex in rhythmical structures which may exceed or extend the ability of human performers. Along with this capability comes the challenge to pioneers in this new field to ceate and apply mathematical and physical principles to the science and art of sound and music in order to realize the potential of the machine in giving life to the constructs of our musical imaginations.-Original LP Liner Notes

NOTE: This terribly rare, genuinely odd, and hopelessly obscure 2LP set provides the soundtrack to a symposium held in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1978 on the subject of Computer Music. This gathering featured live music and interpretive dance by noted leaders in the field, including Emmanuel Ghent, David Wessel, Jean-Claude Risset, Tracy Peterson, Dean Wallraff, William McKee, James Dashow, Diane Thome, and Joan S. and Joseph P. Olive. Truly strange stuff. There is a misspelling on the cover, "COMTEMPORARY", but the LP was pressed in such small quantities that probably nobody noticed.

The LPs are wrapped in 2 to 5 square feet of 3/16" bubble wrap and the boxes are taped TIGHTLY. LPs can be shipped outside jackets (to prevent seam splitting) if requested. We have been shipping LPs worldwide for years, and have the feedback to prove that we ship them properly.
