NEW ORDER : ELEGIA / 5-8-6 / The Him 12'' LP SUPER RARE Vinyl LP.


New York imprint Slow To Speak and Boston record shop Dope Jams had teamed up to release this full length version 2012 of New Order's "Elegia." Peter Hook sent the label a cease and desist on this press, because he's a total jerk, hence why this is so rare. The Low Life version was an edit and the only previous release of the full 18-minute track was on the rare 5th disc of the 2002 box set Retro (turns out it's also on the bonus disc of the 2008 Low Life CD remaster). Composed as a lament for Ian Curtis, this is New Order at their most dramatically epic. The package is completed with two b-sides: the excellent live-to-tape Peel Session version of 5-8-6 and another song dedicated to Curtis, Movement's "The Him." A wonderful pressing and a phenomenal addition for any New Order and/or Joy Division fan.
