Description
PIRON'S NEW ORLEANS ORCHESTRA rang the bell at Victor Records, during the brief period in '23 and '24 when Victor was courting Race artists.
Here, they offer the hot numbers "NEW ORLEANS WIGGLE" and "MAMA'S GONE, GOODBYE" in a sort of prelude to the hotness to follow.
The band was swinging, with PETER BOCAGE, trumpet / JOHN LINDSAY, trombone / LORENZO TIO, clarinet / LOUIS WARNECKE, alto / STEVE LEWIS, piano / CHARLES BOCAGE, banjo / BOB YSAGUIRRE, tuba / LOUIS COTTRELL, drums. ALL these worthies would go on to distinguished jazz careers.
This original 1923 "Bat Wing" Victor 19233 is in spiffy E condition. Some minor scuffs.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care.
