High Gloss, extremely clean Vinyl has only a very few faint sleeve hairlines, viewed under hard bright light, that are inaudible. LP plays Great, EX+ to NM sound throughout. Labels are bright and clean both sides.

COVER is VG+
Vibrant, thin matte cover is overall exceptionally clean with very mild shelf wear and some edge creases. Seams and spine completely intact with no wear or splits. Spine titles are crisp, bold and 100% legible.

Great 1977 UK PUNK / NEW WAVE Compilation of top UK and US bands!

in 1977 "NEW WAVE" was a brand new term, still in search of a style ... so what we have here is mostly top PUNK acts that are stretching the boundaries and breaking new ground - the original NEW WAVE. The band most associated today with what we consider - from our decades-on hindsight - as 'New Wave' would be TALKING HEADS with their 1st single: Love Goes to Building on Fire, and perhaps The FLAMIN' GROOVIES with their ever classic Shake Some Action.
The rest: RAMONES, DEAD BOYS, NEW YORK DOLLS, RUNAWAYS, PATTI SMITH, BOOMTOWN RATS, THE DAMNED, RICHARD HELL AND THE VOID-OIDS, etc. fall more or less square into the PUNK pantheon.

As far as Punk comps go this one still remains highly regarded as one of the better LPs of the era.

Features the alternate version of Richard Hell's "Love Comes in Spurts" among other previously non-LP tracks. Cool compilation from the earliest punk rock days! 16 TRACKS IN ALL

who was a DJ at the Radio Station I co-founded in the 1970's - and who worked for me at my California record store in the '70s and '80s. . Sadly he has now left this mortal coil, bequeathing me his deep Vinyl Mine.
