Complete with 1st Press Laminated Sleeve!!! A Massively Rare Album!!! Played only Once Ever!!! You Will Not Find A Better Copy of This Rare Seminal Album!!!!

Here we have another essential UK 1st pressing from my mostly Nr Mint UK Psych/Prog/Rock collection. Let me make one thing clear right from the beginning, this record is the best example of a UK 1st Press of this rare album I have ever seen, and it took me 7 years to find!!! You are bidding on one of the all time classic debut LP's - and almost impossible to find nowadays (especially in this condition!!!); the absolutely classic 1973 UK Mercury 1st Pressing 1//2 2//2 matrix on the Blue Mercury Label 'New York Dolls' by The New York Dolls!!! What's more, this is in impossible MINT- condition, it looks like it has only ever seen a turntable once in its lifetime! Let me also make it clear that this is not one of the much more common Dutch pressings that often turn up in the UK - it is the original 1973 UK 1st Press!!! Pressed on thick & chunky quality 1970's UK vinyl, with an unparalleled crisp clean distortion-free sound!!!!

I cannot underestimate the influence of this band, which in spirit and attitude were the 1970's equivalent to bands such as The MC5 & The Stooges. If perhaps lacking the MC5's political ideologies and intelligence, they aptly made up for this with snarling attitude and mouthfulls of gob for anybody unlucky enough to be down the front at any of their more intimate shows. It is no coincidence that Sid and The Sex Pistols were to exhibit almost identical stage antics five or so years later, they were hugely influenced by the New York Dolls, as many have been since (Morrissey anyone?). The Underground 1970's belonged to Erickson and Johnny Thunders, who epitomised the attitude of rock and roll in a way not seen since Jagger & Richard in the 1960's. The band even ended it the way all truly great rock and roll bands should go, and imploded in a mess of over-inflated egos and drugs overdoses after leaving the world a truly awesome debut album (What are you still doing here Oasis?). Anyways this is that album; it sold in ridiculously small amounts upon its release, resulting in a very low initial press run, and as such is massively rare today. The few remaining superb quality UK 1st presses of this LP dried up years ago and it is no coincidence that the UK has been flooded with inferior Dutch represses over the last 10-15 years. As demand increases for what was a criminally overlooked and under-produced 1970's UK album, the miniscule amount of UK 1st presses are going to become worth a huge amount of money over the coming years...

The vinyl itself is in absolutely pristine MINT- condition! It has No scratches, NO scuffing, NO groove wear, NO warping or blemishes of any kind at all!!! It is straight MINT- as simple as that!!! It is the best example of this record I have ever seen! I am very pleased to state that this is a record that also plays as good as it looks!!! It has NO jumps, NO pops and NO hissing, just a beautiful crisp sound that only the very 1st pressings of this album ever had! The thick quality pressed chunky 1970's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!). Like I mentioned above, this grades as Mint-, which for a very 1st UK pressing of this amazing album is impossible to find anymore. Now we get to the Classic fully laminated Sleeve and I am very pleased to report that this sleeve is also in superb condition, it is very special indeed. The crispness of this sleeve and laminate is astounding. Due to the very limited release of the UK 1st press of this album, these sleeve's do not often turn up today in anything approaching this condition. This one however, is absolutely beautiful.  There are NO Tears, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  I really cannot find anything wrong with this sleeve at all!!! At a push there is the faintest impression of ring wear, but you have to look very hard to see and you have to angle the sleeve toward strong light. However this is a  very minor detail and in no way detracts from this beautiful UK 1st press fully laminated sleeve. The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with good strong Mint spine!!! There is virtually NO corner wear, but again there is some wear on the bottom edge leading up to each corner.  Now the grading part, and as you'd expect from that description, this sleeve is EX+++; a truly beautiful example!!!! It also comes with its ORIGINAL poly-lined windowed Inner Sleeve, which is crisp clean, flat, crease-free and Nr Mint, and is still firmly attached to its polythene inner!!!  I have tried to show you the record from all angles - there's nothing to hide!!! If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help. Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP - finding a true UK 1st pressing of this classic LP is almost impossible today!!! However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure.
