1616. VINTAGE 78 RPM CHILDREN'S LAMINATED CARDBOARD PICTURE RECORD ~ NIC PROJECTOR COMPANY, NO. 27/30, CIRCA 1930?

TITLE(S):  "Cowboy Joe and the Indians" / "Sinbad the Sailor"

DESCRIPTION:  Narrated stories with sound effects

GRADE:  Good to Good Plus (G to G+)

CONDITION NOTES:  Record has crisp, bright, colorful pictures on both sides.  The images are in reds and greens (much like early two-strip Technicolor) with slight darkening and/or browning around outside edges.  

Record surfaces are somewhat glossy with visible scuffs, scratches, a small lamination edge crack on "Sinbad" (barely into grooves), item has jagged and/or rough edges (flaky and/or split edge lamination), disc has risen up in the center (bowed up on "Sinbad" side, bowed down or in for "Cowboy" side), and there is visible wear around the center hole on both sides.  

Seller did play this record but it is hard to track (due to rising up in center) and plays with surface noise, some distortion, and rough starts at the beginning of each side.  However, the second half of each side does play with somewhat more clarity and volume.

***No worries about packing…I pack for shipment like the pros - record secured between cardboard squares in large box with plenty of padding.

 GRADING IS CONSERVATIVE USING THE VJM RECORD GRADING SYSTEM:

N (78). As new and unplayed (there are virtually no 78s that can categorically be claimed to be unplayed).

N- (78). Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage.

E+ (78). Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets.

E  (78). Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches.

E- (78). Still shiny but without the luster of a new record, a few light scratches and scuffs.

V+ (78).  An average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.

V (78). Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.

V- (78). Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy graying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.

G+ (78). Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches.

G (78). Quite seriously worn and scratched, but music level is still higher than surface noise.
