Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

WHITE LABEL 1969 WARNER BROTHERS ORIGINAL   57 YEARS AGO ~ "STRAIGHT" ~ RECORDS LABEL
PURE ACID TRIPS: the second 1970 album :
Original printed "Straight" inner sleeve included

"In" sound grooves within the second album by Alice Cooper, recorded in 1969, and arguably their best, centered on melodic psychedelic self-penned compositions including 'heady' weird lyrics and awesome playing...even though they were largely unknown at this point, they were really coming together ...a very strong underground rock album where every track is good, catchy and interesting...the more you play it, the better it grows!
  1. Call this "the great undiscovered" Alice Cooper album. Pretties for You is a difficult record, and Love It to Death is a classic, yet this might be the perfect picture of an evolving Alice Cooper Group.

  2. "Mr. & Misdemeanor" has Cooper beginning to define his nasty trademark vocal style: "Here's new pretties for you/nobody likes me but we adore you."

  3. Alice Cooper became known for writing two-and-a-half, three-minute catchy tunes with negative themes, augmented by longer pieces toward the end of some recordings. With that in mind, this is almost pre-production for Love It to Death, although the band is more inventive here. The outstanding "Shoe Salesman" could be Strawberry Alarm Clock meets The Beatles -- they had not transformed it into hard action. Easy Action gives evidence that Alice has more of a voice than he got credit for. "Still No Air" has a sci-fi slant, a slant they could've taken up when the members departed from Cooper and became the Billion Dollar Babies. "Below Your Means" is almost seven minutes of early Who-style musical investigation. There is that great West Coast psych/rock blend throughout, some hybrid of L.A./U.K. garage rock and psychedelia (this material would fit nicely on a soundtrack for American International Pictures).

  4. Side two opens with "Return of the Spiders," with upfront twisting fuzz guitar leads. One wonders if this was influenced by David Bowie or if David Bowie influenced it? Both artists emerged around the same time, with Alice Cooper under Frank Zappa's wing, for better or even best. "Laughing at Me" is very similar to Bowie's "Man Who Sold the World." There's the freezing infectious "Refrigerator Heaven"; and, a wonderful British-like popsike nugget called "Beautiful Flyaway," and "Lay Down and Die, Goodbye," a trippy seven-minute+ song which clearly sounds like it belongs on Zappa's "Straight" record label. That this band could run the gamut from top notch psych melodies to UK styled popsike gems, inspired by both Zappa & Cooper, making Easy Action a clever study and a timelessly entertaining record.
  5. One not to miss -- for all its twists & turns
