UK FIRST PALM TREE LABEL VARIANT (BUT STILL FIRST PRESSING MATRIX AND MOTHERS) VINYL ALBUM IN TEXTURED 'BASING STREET' ADDRESS SLEEVE WITH ORIGINAL POLY-LINED BLACK COMPANY INNER SLEEVE.

THIS LABEL VARIANT WAS PRESSED CIRCA 1972, BUT THE ALBUM HAD SOLD SO FEW COPIES OVER 2 YEARS,  THE ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE A-1U METAL WORK AND #1 MOTHERS WERE STILL BEING USED TO PRESS COPIES.  IN THE MEANTIME, ISLAND HAD MOVED FROM BASING STREET TO 22 ST. PETERS SQUARE IN 1973,  MAKING THIS INNER SLEEVE APPEAR TO BE THE CORRECT ONE FOR THIS ALBUM, AS IT WAS THE IN-PRINT COPY FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, AGAIN SELLING VERY POORLY.

DISC: VISUALLY VERY GOOD+, JUST SHORT OF EXCELLENT MINUS. NO SCRATCHES, JUST A FEW VERY LIGHT HAIRLINES AND A LITTLE DUSTY. CLEAN LABELS.  A NICE CLEAN BRITISH PRESSING OF THIS NOW-CLASSIC ALBUM.
