Although famously on the first pressings ( as on this copy)  the back sleeve has printed the  song titles in the wrong order  ( mixing up Way to blue and Day is done) 

CONDITION

I will do my best to describe The Condition and any flaws ( sadly there are a few-This is a slightly Shabby Copy)

SLEEVE IS VERY GOOD  with wear and rubbing to edges and particularly corners of spine. There is a little shelf wear towards bottom edge of front sleeve and a finger print size of rubbing towards the top left corner of the main photo of Nick ( just above the back window) back sleeve upper left corner has a little rubbing and a small label size patch of blue biro  about 1.8cm x 1.2cm  which I hope you can see in the photo .

Inner sleeve left has a small tear just below the final lyric line for Saturday Sun and  a tiny spot of paint that has left a mark on both sides of the  inner sleeve ( centre Top- but otherwise inner sleeve is in pretty good shape .) 

Spine has a fair bit of creasing and edge wear .

LABELS ARE EXCELLENT - Perhaps showing a little  fading in colour - In general there does seem to be a bit of variation in the intensity of the PINK colour of ISLAND LABELS from late 60s .

LP in VERY GOOD  to  GOOD  

SIDE ONE IS VERY GOOD with light surface marks which are noticable in a strong light

SIDE TWO is VISUALLY GOOD with two transverse marks that are clearly noticable

I have taken a photo ( See photo 6) to try and show these marks  - The  photo Lighting was very strong to make the marks stand out  as much as possible 

While the vinyl doesn’t look that pretty these late 60s ISLAND PRESSINGS are so good that The Sound Quality is easily VERY GOOD And I would say for 90% of the album more like EXCELLENT  

More Specifically 

Side One  Track 1 Faint background crackles at start followed by a some deeper crackles and very light pops for about 1 minute into the track 

The rest of side one plays Just under excellent with faint crackles in the quietest sections

Track 3 There was 1 Pop for 1 Revolution at the end 

Side Two

There are initial crackles at the start followed by a louder Pop for 12 -13 revolutions or so- the track continues with very faint background crackles

Track Two - occasional pops for 2 or 3 revolutions  with faint background crackles

Track Three - Excellent

Track Four 1 pop for 1 rev early on and 1 further pop again for 1 rev

Track five  2 light pops for 1 Rev Midway with faint background crackles 

NEEDLESS TO SAY AN ORIGINAL COPY OF THIS LP DOES  NOT APPEAR VERY OFTEN AND WHILE ITS NOT  A PERFECT COPY BY ANY MEANS -

I FEEL IT PLAYS EXTREMELY WELL and THIS IS NOW VERY MUCH PART OF CONTEMPORARY MUSIC HISTORY  -

NICK DRAKE WAS FOR MANY YEARS A CULT ARTIST - 

NOW HE IS AT LAST SIMPLY UP THERE WITH THE GREATS WHICH IS WHERE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALL ALONG !
