NICK DRAKE Pink Moon ORIGINAL ISSUE VINYL LP ISLAND ILPS-9184 stereo 1972
Gatefold sleeve Tinsley Robor Group Ltd; island records ltd basing street; Matrix ILPS 9184 A-1U / ILSP 9184 B-1U Pink rim palm tree label.
Nick Drake’s final album, first pressing, I believe.
Sleeve is sound, colours bright, slightly scruffy, see close up pics, light creases and scuffs including some ring wear, also a feint crease line across centre of sleeve, appears that somebody has placed sleeve beneath paper and used a ruler, leaving an impression; edge rubs all over; surface scuffs from handling and storage; a few age marks to card; still has a fairly bright uniform appearance, so GOOD
Disc is still glossy, feint surface marks; background noise is crackly in places, and there are a few light pops early on both sides; turning up volume music is clear and not distorted, but background noise is there, particularly as this such an intimate sounding album. Still sounds okay to me though, the noise is mainly background, and seems to go with the territory being a well-loved well-played album, but maybe not for those who grew up with noise-free CDs.. so a little crackly with a few pips, GOOD-
