Description
Niklaus Aeschbacher, born April 30, 1917 in Trogen, Switzerland, died November 30, 1995, brother of the pianist Adrian Aeschbacher ( 1912 - 2002 ), was a composer, conductor and pianist. Studied at the Conservatory in Zürich and at the Hochschule Berlin. Conductor and concertmaster in Bayreuth, Braunschweiz, Bern, 1954 chief conductor at the N.H.K.Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo, return to Germany ( Kiel, Detmold ), professor at Detmold Conservatory from 1972 - 84. Beetween 1930 and 1959 he wrote one opera ( Die roten Schuhe ) and a few pieces for orchestra and chamber music.
2 records 12" Swiss Columbia LZX 13/14: Borodin, Quintet (1812 ) in C minor, Nilkaus Aeschbacher piano, Quatuor Jaques - Mottier ( Jaques, Jenne, Lüthi, Mottier ), matrices CZW 197-200, recorded March 1945 in Zürich. Condition 1-2.
Received 1945 best prize for this recording.
Niklaus Aeschbacher made only 3 recordings ( this Swiss Columbia, one for Elite and one for DGG as conductor ).

3-4 = more traces of use, sonic wear from light greying. An inferior average copy, light scratches possible
4 = some sounding wear, heavier rubs and marks, scratches possible
5 = obvious sounding wear, heavy rubs, marks, scratches. An unsatisfactory copy.
