Nine Inch Nails / The Downward Spiral – Interscope/Nothing/Halo Eight Records PR-5509 (1994)(US) ...This auction is for a hard to find, very limited Promotional only Double Record on U.S. vinyl. The Downward Spiral positioned Trent Reznor as industrial rock's own Phil Spector, painting detailed, layered soundscapes from a wide tonal palette. Reznor moved to Los Angeles to craft this second full-length NIN album, (assembling a studio in the house where actress Sharon Tate was murdered by Charles Manson's associates). The Downward Spiral is a highly ambitious work, a concept album indebted to progressive rock that featured the most detailed, layered studio craft of any NIN release yet*. The brand new Records with deluxe inner sleeves (promo labels) and Gatefold Cover are in excellent (unplayed/Mint) condition (also included is a super rare promotional pre-release flyer from Interscope Records that came originally with the record stating “Enjoy your extra special vinyl, you are one of the few to be receiving such a prize on wax!!”).
