There is almost no trace of psychedelia on this album, aside from maybe the guitar solo on "Black Flower." Rather, this album is lush orchestral pop similar to contemporary work by the Bee Gees or Nick Drake. Unlike the Bee Gees, Nirvana are more atmospheric; and unlike Nick Drake, the guitar (if present) is rarely in the foreground. Some inspiration seems to be taken from Tin Pan Alley and show tunes, especially on the album's centerpiece "Love Suite." Christian imagery is present in the album too, though this isn't considered a "Christian" record. This album is very soft, and probably will not appeal to fans of British psych, but it is worth hearing because it is done better than most groups that attempted this kind of sound.
