Probably the British Nirvana's most underrated album (but aren't they all?) Consistently good throughout, which can't be said of Dedicated to Markos III or any of the other albums in fact, here we find a Nirvana that manages to take itself less seriously while at the same time maturing a great deal lyrically - no more silly songs about clowns or wings or "we can help you, we're gonna help you, we're gonna help you". The music, too - this Nirvana has a breezier feel to it, with arrangements that remind me a bit of Bryter Layter, and the funkier reimaginings of "Rainbow Chaser" and "Pentecost Hotel" are actually really cool.
